Today, the Hurun Research Institute and Shenzhen’s Futian District released the 2025 Hurun Global 1000, ranking the 1000 most valuable companies in the world. Companies were ranked according to their value, defined as market capitalisation for listed companies and valuations for non-listed companies. The cut-off date used was 14 November 2025.

The Hurun Research Institute today released, in association with premium baijiu brand Hengchang Shaofang, the Hurun China Rich List 2025, a ranking of the richest individuals in China. The cut-off was CNY 5 billion (equivalent to US$700 million), and wealth calculations were from 1 September. This is the 27th year of the list.

The Hurun Research Institute today launched the HENGCHANG XIANGSHANG · Hurun China Art List 2025, a ranking of the Top 100 Chinese living artists based on the sales of their works at public auction in the year ending 31 December 2024. The report includes the Hurun Best-Selling Chinese Artists 2024, a list of the 100 best-selling artists from China, including both living and deceased artists.

The Hurun Research Institute today released the Global Unicorn Index 2025, a ranking of the world’s unicorns, defined as start-ups founded in the 2000s, worth at least a billion dollars and not yet listed on a public exchange. The cut-off was 1 January 2025, with significant changes in valuation updated up to the date of release. Hurun Research has been tracking unicorns since 2017. This is the seventh year of the Global Unicorn Index. This report includes the Most Successful Unicorn Investors in the World 2025, a ranking of the investment houses that have invested in the most unicorns.

HSBC China in association with Hurun Education today released the HSBC Hurun Education Global Highschools 2025, a list of the world’s top highschools, ranked according to leavers’ university destinations, co-curricular and reputation. The ranking only includes independent schools, i.e. non-state schools, with physical campuses. This is the third year of the list.

The Hurun Research Institute today released the Changshu Kuncheng Lake · Hurun China Under30s 2024, a list of China’s most successful entrepreneurs aged 30 and under. This is the eighth year of the list. 131 individuals made the list. 95 are self-made entrepreneurs. Software & Services led the way, covering emerging areas such as AI and Energy data services.

Hurun Research today released the Hurun Global Rich List 2025, a ranking of the US dollar billionaires in the world. Wealth calculations are a snapshot of 15 January 2025. This is the 14th year of the ranking.

The inaugural Hurun UK Under40s 2024, showcasing pioneering entrepreneurs in the UK creating thousands of jobs and powering economic growth. The 110 entrepreneurs have together set up businesses with a combined value of £82 billion and between them created more than 60,500 jobs. The average value of each of the companies included is £1.32 billion.

The Hurun Research Institute today released the Hurun China 500 Most Valuable Private Companies 2024, a list of the Top 500 China-based non-state-controlled enterprises, ranked according to their value. This is the sixth year of the Hurun China 500. The total value of the Hurun 500 increased by 13% to US$7.8tn. By value, semiconductors, media & entertainment, industrial products and consumer goods led. TSMC most valuable private company in China for fourth year running. Tencent 2nd. Bytedance overtakes Alibaba to a top three place.

The Hurun Research Institute today launched the HENGCHANG SHAOFANG · Hurun Global Art List 2024, a ranking of the Top 50 artists in the world alive today, based on the sales of their works at public auction in the year ending 31 December 2023. This is the fifth year of the Hurun Global Art List. USA led with 15 artists, followed by China with 11 and UK with 9. German artist Gerhard Richter, 92, topped Hurun Global Art List for third year running, with sales last year of his works of art at public auction around the world of US$214mn.

This is the seventh year of the list. This year, 189 individuals from 183 companies made the list. The average age was 28, with 77% male and 23% female. On average, companies are 4.7 years old, have 180 employees and are funded to Series A.

This is the fourth year of the Hurun Global Art List. German artist Gerhard Richter, 91, topped the list with US$230mn in sales.

This is the 20th year of the Hurun Philanthropy List. The cut-off to make the Hurun China Philanthropy List 2023 was CNY100mn, equivalent to US$14mn. The Hurun Research Institute identified 34 individuals from 17 cities who each gave more than CNY100mn in the past year. Yang Guoqiang & Yang Huiyan become China’s most generous for the first time with donations amounting to US$820mn. Su Hua, 41, of short video platform Kuaishou donated US$450mn ranked 2nd. He Xiangjian, 81, of Midea ranked 3rd with a US$410mn donation.
